Petropoulos Closer To ASA

(Gainesville, GA) April 04, 2004 - - As the American Speed Association event from Lanier Speedway draws closer, hometown hero Peter Petropoulos continues to hunt for more sponsors in order to make his 2004 ASA debut at the track he has dominated in the past.

Peter, who finished 12th in his 2004 racing opener at Lanier late last month does have some sponsors on board for the season, but not enough at this time to be at the state where they feel they can win.

"We are doing everything in our power to attend the ASA event at Lanier," stated Petropoulos.

"We have some deals going, but we need some more backing, I think I'm a driver capable of winning, I'm confident in our ASA program that we are putting together, we just need the advertisers to make it happen."

ZR Motorsports would like to run as many as six ASA National Touring events in 2004 with the option to expand and move Peter up the ladder and to a full 2005 schedule with hopes of securing the $50,000 Rookie-of-the-Year bonus.

"I think if everything falls into place, as it should, we will use these six races at testing events, and prepare for the real battle in 2005," Petropoulos added.
