2003 ZR Motorsports News Petropoulos Team has a Tough Night Atlanta, GA. - (April 20, 2003) Hopes were high for a second consecutive top-five finish after qualifying eighth in the Pro Late Model time trials Saturday night at Lanier National Speedway. After an early climb to sixth position in the feature, Peter Petropoulos' No. 28 Battle Paint and Drywall Chevrolet was spun after receiving a hard hit from behind that forced numerous trips to the pits for repair. Petropoulos managed a 17th place finish despite his repeated visits to pit road. Even though the 24-year old driver had a difficult night, he had nothing but praise for the effort of his pit crew. "My crew is working hard. The team is brand new, weve never really worked together before but its coming together sooner than we had expected" said Petropoulos. "I really hate it for my team when this kind of thing happens, but its a part of racing that we have to live with. My car owner, Guy Battle, has given us everything we need to be successful and I know well bring him a win real soon. |
