Edy’s Ice Cream Joins Petropoulos' Red Ribbon Week

by Chris Knight, ZR Motorsports

ATLANTA, GA (October 24, 2005) — Peter Petropoulos' longtime supporter and sponsor Edy’s Ice Cream will join their driver’s message of "Winners Don’t Use Drugs" as Peter continues to visit local schools for his contribution to Red Ribbon week.

Peter Petropoulos is a passionate advocate of a drug, alcohol and tobacco-free lifestyle. He takes advantage of the exposure he receives through his racing career to spread his message "Winners Don't Use Drugs!"

"I’m very excited about having Edy’s Ice Cream onboard for this program," said the 27-year old driver. "They have been a great sponsor not only to this team, but the racing community. It shows they are not only doing this for our ZR Motorsports team, but they are doing this for the kids, and that’s important."

Petropoulos will be visiting Lanier Middle School this Tuesday (Oct. 25) followed by Pharr Elementary School in Snellville, Georgia, on Wednesday, Tucker Middle School on Thursday and Kilough Elementary School in Dawsonville, Georgia, on Friday.

In addition to speaking with students about his message, the avid and respected late model driver will bring his No. 28 Edy’s Ice Cream Dibs Chevrolet Monte Carlo racecar for his young fans to see and explore.

"Bringing the racecar to the school is just as neat as speaking," continued Petropoulos. "Edy’s is promoting their Dibs ice cream and the car looks awesome. While educating the students about the danger of drugs, allowing them to explore the racecar just proves that this is one of the careers you can take if you don’t do drugs."

"There are a lot of talented kids in this state and if they stay away from drugs and alcohol and choose a tobacco-free lifestyle, their futures are bright, much brighter than they think."
