Petropoulos
Earns Third Consecutive Fast Qualifier Award at Lanier
(Braselton,
GA) June 25, 2003 - The new king of the road in Pro Late Model qualifying
at Lanier National Speedway in Braselton, Ga. is 24-year old Peter Petropoulos.
After
claiming his third consecutive fast qualifier award last Saturday, the
driver from Flowery Branch just outside of Atlanta is poised to put his
No. 28 Battle Builders, Inc. Chevrolet in victory lane at what is arguably
one of the toughest short tracks in the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Racing Series.
Coming
off a fourth place run in last Saturday's 50-lap feature which included
an impressive 24 cars in the starting grid, Petropoulos said he and his
crew are loaded with confidence. "Three
poles is just awesome," said Petropoulos. "The team is so excited.
It's like having a win. That's what we're looking for now, that win."
Petropoulos
hopes to claim his first and second career Pro Late Model wins at Lanier
National Speedway on Saturday June 28. Due to several rainouts earlier
in the season, the track will run two 25-lap features instead of the normal
50 laps.
"I'm
excited about this weekend," said Petropoulos. "I really like
the opportunity to get to run two races."
