2003 ZR Motorsports News Petropoulos
leading by example
(Atlanta, GA) September 18, 2003 - Peter Petropoulos, one of the nation's most talented short track drivers, plans to put his speaking skills to work in October when he visits two metro Atlanta-area schools to talk about the pitfalls of drug use. A four-time winner in 2003 in the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series at Lanier National Speedway in Braselton, the 25-year old driver will have his No. 28 Battle Paint & Drywall Chevrolet Monte Carlo and member of his pit crew at his side when he visits Barnwell Elementary School in Alpharetta on Wednesday October 22 and Brockett Elementary School in Tucker on Friday October 31. Members of the media are invited to attend both events. Aside from his racing career, Petropoulos is frequently involved in Race against Drugs, a program associated with NASCAR and other racing sanctioning bodies. He can often be found stressing to kids the importance of making right decisions in life, especially when it involves the use of alcohol, drugs, and tobacco. Petropoulos and the No. 28 Battle Paint & Drywall team get back in action on Saturday September 20 in the Casey Elliott Memorial Super Bowl at Lanier National Speedway. Other upcoming events on his schedule include the October 4 Late Model National 300 at Lanier, the September 27 World Crown 300 at Peach State Speedway in Jefferson, and the December 6 Snowflake Derby at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Fl. |
