Petropoulos Surges with Strong 2003 Finish at Lanier National Speedway

(Braselton, GA) September 26, 2003 - Peter Petropoulos capped off the 2003 NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series season at Lanier National Speedway in Braselton, Ga. with a third-place finish in the 100-lap Casey Elliott Memorial Super Bowl Pro Late Model race on September 20.

The 25-year old driver from Flowery Branch, Ga. rewarded his sponsor, Atlanta businessman and home builder Guy Battle, with four race wins, five poles, and a fourth place finish in Lanier National Speedway's final point standings.

In the process, Petropoulos gained the reputation of being a front-runner and a force to be reckoned with each Saturday at what is widely regarded as one of the toughest NASCAR-sanctioned ovals in the country.

After suffering through several weeks of bad luck early in the year, Petropoulos and the No. 28 Battle Paint & Drywall Chevrolet team turned the corner at mid-season when crew chief Steve Whitehead came on board. Whitehead's approach and Petropoulos' natural driving ability led to remarkable consistency for the No. 28 Chevrolet during the second-half of the 2003 season.

Battle Paint & Drywall plans to return as the primary sponsor for Petropoulos next season. An official announcement, accompanied by Petropoulos' 2004 itinerary, will be released in early October.
