"If by my actions, I can help just one
person to be drug and alcohol free, I am 26 years old and hold two World Karting Association (WKA) National Championships in Karting, two State Championships, Track Champion, numerous top ten finishes, and a National Championship. I hope to move on to a NASCAR Series and hope that my winning attitude and clear vision gives me the edge to be successful in what ever form of motorsports I continue.
I have been on the Bill Connell Radio Show (Pros in Motorsports) both in Atlanta and Daytona, a guest on the Charles Head Syndicated radio motorsports broadcast in Atlanta and have done public announcements for a radio station during NASCAR week in which I spoke of my involvement with RAD and my approach to racing that, "Winners Don't Use Drugs". I know and realize that from the bottom of my heart that being drug and alcohol free is a great factor in my success in racing, life, family, goals, work and every breathe I take. If by my actions, I can help just one person to be drug and alcohol free, then I have accomplished a major goal. At the age of 15 Peter Petropoulos began racing karts and raced throughout the southeast competing in the WKA series winning four championships. Peter's competitive spirit and good sportsmanship has interested many young drivers and it is because of this entrepreneurial spirit that Peter has been chosen to represent RAD. At the age of 24 Peter is and has always been drug and alcohol free, a hard worker at his full time job as a mechanical engineer, and fully dedicated to showing others how this way of life can only bring good things. What is RAD? Race Against Drugs is a national organization made up of members of the racing world who volunteer their time or lend their name to help educate America's youth against illegal drug abuse. Peter joins forces with Winston Cup Champion Ricky Rudd and Jeremy Mayfield in promoting a drug free future for our kids, our future leaders. These efforts deliver the message to our kids to "Get High on racing, not drugs". The Race Against Drugs organization is a
partnership with the FBI, the DEA, the Office of
Juvenile Justice, the Center for Substance Abuse
Prevention, the Bureau of Justice Assistance,
and the National Youth Safety Council. |
